Brief
To create an intriguing natural pathway to lead the walker on a pleasant journey through a wooded area, encountering the unexpected life size sculptures around each corner en route, continuing up a mountainside to an outdoor contemplation area without affecting the location of trees and necessary deer fencing.
Scope
Unlimited budget, a talented team of landscapers on hand to implement any kind of plan, and full scope to present an authentic feng shui inspired design using natural materials.
Details
The project took several months to complete and consisted of the following:
- Mapping out the pathway route and its length, width, and specifying edging and dressing materials
- Designing an exterior staircase for a steep mountainside and specifying materials and construction
- Accompanying the client to select life size art in the form of sculptures
- Sourcing plants and specifying planting locations
- Selecting natural materials such as bamboo for screenage and disguising unattractive fencing
