Opportunity knocks at front doors, one of Ireland’s leading feng shui experts has revealed.
Thousands of home-owners flocked to the country’s newest interior design event at the RDS in Dublin this weekend.
Speaking at House 2016, Chinese feng shui consultant Nina Kati urged people to pay more attention to the entrance of their house.
She said: “The front door is really, really serious.
“We all have a mouth to take in all the nourishment we can from our food. The front door takes in all the opportunities coming our way.
“All the good luck, all the career opportunities, maybe a promotion or a pay rise, all of those things are coming in through the front door, so don’t block the front door.”
The Waterford-based interior designer was just one of the speakers who took o the Miele Inspiration Stage at the three-day spectacular, which continues today.
And with over 150 exhibitors, including Knobs and Knockers and Tara Crystal Chandeliers, there was plenty of inspiration for doors, floors and more.
Among the most lusted-after products featured at the interiors extravaganza was an €11,000 state-of-the-art television by Bang and Olufson.
However, the guest speaker Dermot Bannon insisted you don’t have to blow the budget to get the home of your dreams.
The Room to Improve presenter said “You don’t have to spend a fortune on things.
“If you’re designing for yourself, you can use any material you want and piece them together in any way you want”.
He added: “I think if you can get yourself dressed in the morning you can put together a house. It’s just confidence.”
House 2016 takes place from 10am-5pm at the RDS today.
Tickets are €10 at the door and under-12s go free when accompanied by an adult.
