South Tipp Female Award Nominees Announced

Twenty-five enterprising women from all over the South East, including South Tipperary, have made it through to the final of the ‘Celebrating Female Excellence Entrepreneurship Awards’, which take place on September 17th next.

Representing South Tipp, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wexford and Waterford City, the nominees have been short-listed by the County and City Enterprise Boards across seven different categories including: ‘Excellence in Retailing’, ‘Excellence in Craft/Manufacturing’, ‘Excellence in ICT’, ‘Excellence in Marketing’, ‘Excellence in Professional and Personal Services’, ‘Excellence in Food and Tourism’ and ‘Female Entrepreneur of the Year’.

The winners for each category will be announced at a ceremony at the South East Women in Business Conference at the Tower Hotel in Waterford City.

Announcing the short-list, Ita Horan from the Tipperary South County Enterprise Board, said: “Our nominees deserve national recognition for their business achievements to date. Through innovation and by identifying new products, services and markets, they’re helping to create and protect jobs here in the South East.”

Organisers have confirmed that the Tipperary nominees for the 2010 ‘Celebrating Excellence in Female Entrepreneurship Awards’ are as follows:

Victoria Corbett from West End Styles Hair Designers (unisex hair salon), representing South Tipperary CEB); Margaret O’Keefe from Compulearn (computer training courses), representing South Tipperary CEB); Nina Kati from Working Wonders (residential interior design services, representing South Tipperary CEB).
